We know we could never say it enough, but thank you. You have tattooed our hearts forever, and it’s the best damn tattoo of our lives. When we started kicking around the idea of launching an autism awareness and fundraising campaign over two years ago, somewhere in the back of our minds, we dreamt it might…maybe…one day reach the level you all pushed the LIFT Campaign to this year.
One day. Down the road.
But you have blown our minds TODAY with your willing hearts and generosity. Speaking of willing hearts, we have to give a special thanks to Erica Heath, who came on board to manage the LIFT Auction, and amazed us with her huge heart and “whatever it takes” attitude. And we can’t forget the authors and bloggers who promoted and donated, everyone who bid, and those who bought LIFT t-shirts. Because of this huge team effort, the 2016 LIFT campaign is donating $11,092.00 to Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) — specifically their scholarship program, which helps families afford the important services and therapies they need.
Let’s back up…and say that number again. $11,092.00!
The difference this campaign will make is the kind that’s felt deeply. It will touch families, offer comfort, and put some good in a world that desperately needs a little sunshine. Beyond the money raised, you fostered dialogue about autism, and hopefully, understanding and acceptance for those who live with it every single day.
We believe the romance writing, reading and blogging community is the best in the world. You’ve proven that. We’re already looking forward to raising the bar next year. Seeing these results in our FIRST year hosting the auction, we can only imagine what’s ahead.
